I mean as a Kings fan I'll chime in as the Kings are often mentioned to be in the hunt for Chychrun. Whoever trades for him I think it will resemble the 5 for 1 Barry Beck trade the Rangers made with Colorado and if you are old enough to remember that Beck is very like Chychrun in the sense of all the potential in the world but often injured. When you hear the Coyotes essentialy want 4 1st rd picks I think a Kings offer looks something like the above and that's just too much for Chychrun who's often injured much like Beck. Chychrun has only played one full season and that was the Covid 56 game season so and I realize you have to give to get the ask is just too risky given his injury plagued career and with each year he gets older he's more susceptible to injury.

Arizona has no urgency, nor any strong reason to trade Chychrun. So the strategy is to ask for the moon. If someone is dumb enough to pony up, then you sell. Otherwise, you keep the player who is under control for 3 more years. The situation has been pretty obvious to me. Asking for the moon is basically the GM's way of saying the player isn't being shopped.

I still don't see why Chychrun is worth so much when it comes to trade value, you would think he was a 24 year old that just came off a year winning the Norris or two.

That's double than what Seth Jones has even received in any of his times traded.

Yet Armstrong is saying he's probably not trading Chychrun , and only doing his due diligence in listening to calls, which makes sense, right now , Chychrun's value is low given the setback season he's had.
